Volunteering With Orphaned Children In Rome
On May 5th, Rome based employees took the kids of the San Giuseppe orphanage for a Tour of Rome together with a small team from the Red Cross who the kids know well. Opera Romana Pellegrinaggi (the Vatican Agency and one of our Top Customers) lent us an open deck bus for the afternoon and the kids loved it!
Although they live in the countryside of Rome, the kids hardly ever have a chance to go out from the orphanage and for them the idea of being able to finally see the beauties of the city was so exciting that they almost didn’t notice that it was raining! (Well, they noticed but didn’t really seem to care much!). Luckily the open deck bus had a cover for the rainy days…! So all enjoyed the tour but also the chips and popcorn that Antonella and Maria Grazia offered to all.
It was for once an afternoon dedicated only to the kids who had a chance to enjoy them selves without having to think about any of their problems. Since the last trip with us in April 2008 they had been thinking and asking about us and were eager to spend time with Sabre who was willing to Give them Time Together!
