Voluntary Blood Donation Camp at Sabre, Bangalore

As the GTT week is almost towards its end, on Thursday April 24, 2008, Sabre Bangalore organized for a voluntary Blood Donation Campaign. The camp was conducted by a well equipped team of medical practitioners from St. John’s Medical College Hospital, Bangalore at the Office premises to enable the employees donate blood conveniently.

Preparations for this event were in place for almost 2 weeks before the event, with the organizer Shirley Thomas, making all the necessary arrangements.

The Blood Bank from St. John’s Medical College had sent us the list of criteria’s for the employees to follow prior to donation. This was circulated by email to all employees. This helped the voluntary donors to decide on eligibility to donate, well in advance.

Dr. Siddhi who led the team from the hospital, gave answers to the queries and cleared doubts for first time donors.

Dr. Siddhi and team then distributed application forms to the donors to be filled up for the initial screening for blood group, pulse rate etc. This process was to be followed compulsorily by donors. After each successful donor had donated blood, he/she was given refreshments like cake, biscuits and fruit juice.

Each donor also received a certificate of appreciation from the hospital for voluntary blood donation.
