Give time at “AWO assisted living”, Hamburg (Germany)
On the 22nd April 2008 five team members from the Sabre Deutschland Marketing GmbH office in Hamburg spend their time volunteering for an assisted living institution managed by a non-profit society.
The caretaker of this institution is responsible for many several buildings scattered out all over Hamburg with only very limited time and resources to take care of the organisations landscaping. So our help was warmly appreciated.
Not being perfect gardeners but full of enthusiasm, we did our best to help restoring the garden and facilities around the building.
We removed weeds and garbage and cared for a nice appearance. But our greatest success was to encourage and to animate some of the residents to join us actively in doing some gardening too.
We were very happy that also the weather in Hamburg was supporting us with a lot of sunshine. The garden and the entries are now looking inviting again. We had a great time there but the most important thing is that the inhabitants and the caretaker are very happy about the support of the “little red Sabre brownies”!
