Toronto Staff Supports Daily Bread Food Bank

The Daily Bread Food Bank distributes food to food banks throughout the Greater Toronto Area.  Food donations, coming from the public and the food industry, are sorted and delivered to their member agencies, who provide food relief programs, such as remote food banks and meal programs, for diverse members of our community.

There are several volunteer opportunities available at Daily Bread, most of them involving sorting food and getting it ready to go to the people who need it. Volunteer roles include Food sorting, Order picking, Reclamation food sorting, and Bulk food processing. (more…)

AS / TN / Zuji Sydney – NSW Animal Rescue

p4300159The New South Wales Animal Rescue (NSWAR) is a private charity that rescues dogs from homes where they are often severely neglected.  They have a no-kill policy and aim to re-home all of the animals they rescue.  A private charity, they have a maximum kennel capacity of 150 animals, but because they receive no government funding they depend entirely on donations of time and money from the public.

Tulsa Giving Together at A New Leaf

The Tulsa Sabre team decided on A New Leaf, www.anewleaf.org, for our time of giving back. We loved their mission which is to provide children and adults with disabilities life skills and marketable job training through horticultural therapy, vocational placement and residential services to increase their independence and individual choices. It was founded in 1979 and provides residential and vocational programming for children and adults with developmental disabilities. (more…)

LIGHT Ladies Get a Home Makeover Thanks to TVLY SCC

For this year’s Give Together event, Travelocity’s Sales and Customer Care Team spent the day volunteering at a residential and outpatient treatment center for women and children referred to as the LIGHT program, which is one of many Volunteers of America programs that focuses on a “strengthening family” agenda. The program provides living accommodations, job training, personal counseling and parenting courses to women with children.
